Why did you choose the Science and Industry Museum for your event?
We were set on the Science and Industry Museum as a venue to introduce GFT to the Manchester Business Community. As a Manchester icon, it represented the historic past of the city as a place of firsts and innovation.
Please describe the brief of the event, when did it take place? Who was the event for? How many people? What were the core goals and objectives?
GFT are a global business opening a Manchester office. They wanted to introduce the business and their future plans to the business community. We had over 100 key leaders from the GM business community in attendance.
Which space at the museum did you use as part of the event and how did it enhance the experience for your guests?
We used the Revolution Manchester Gallery; it worked perfectly for our guests. It felt really special to access the museum after hours. The setting really added to atmosphere bringing together the history of Manchester with GFT as part of the future.
Were there any added extras you were able to include as part of the event due to holding it at the Science and Industry Museum?
The event space was so flexible, we knew that we wanted a live band and circus performers and we were able to accommodate everything really well. As we return to events it was also important for us to ensure we had a big enough space for people to feel comfortable.
Did you opt for any bespoke catering or AV during the event?
We had great feedback on the food! We used the in-house catering but had a few specific choices. We wanted to ensure that we had an option in each course that was vegan and would accommodate any allergies. We also had macaroons and the team managed to make them in the company colours with the logo. This was a great touch and our client was thrilled.
We also opted to bring in Henry C to run a cocktail bar. As a small independent business from Manchester, we felt that it was a nice touch to add for our guests. The team really made an effort to make sure this was a smooth process and our guests were delighted with the outcome.
How did the setting of the Science and Industry Museum contribute to the overall feel and purpose of the event?
We would not hesitate to recommend the Science an Industry Museum. The setting and the staff really ensured that all of our guests had a wonderful time.
There really isn’t any other venue that offers the surroundings and atmosphere of the Science and Industry Museum.
What feedback did you receive from the guests?
People really felt like it was a special experience and opened up their eyes to the museum as a venue. People really enjoyed the food and commented on the professional service.

We had a wonderful experience working with the team at the Science and Industry Museum. Marie Claire especially couldn’t have been more helpful and really went above and beyond to make our vision come to life.
Due to the timings, we had a small window to set up and the whole team put in every effort to make this happen and supported all of our suppliers. We can’t recommend the venue enough and would like to thank the whole team for their hard work and hospitality.
